For the safety I'd do it myself with a fresh safety button from Trop's Gunshop. The brass won't hang up unlike the factory one.
It's quick and easy.

I think he is referring to a M77 tang safety.

Al and roger Biesen did my tang safety 270 and did a bang up job. I have been using it for over 40 years and it is as good as new.

If the .416 Ruger reamer cleans up the .416 Taylor chamber ...

... Compared a couple of cartridge drawings at ammoguide.com:
The .416 Ruger cleans it up everywhere except for a question of whether the base above the extractor groove is only .530" on the .416 Ruger, versus .532" on the belt of the .416 Taylor. Both have the same .532" rim diameter maximum brass spec,
and the .416 Ruger is "way bigger" than the .416 Taylor everywhere else.
This would require looking at the actual reamer specs, or live with a possible .001" ring depth near the base of the chamber.
There might be no issue at all, depending on actual reamer and brass specs.
A setback of the barrel to eliminate the belt area of the .416 Taylor chamber is a worst case scenario,
as long as there is not some wildly long throating on the .416 Taylor ...

Beam me up, Snotty! (Inside joke.) space

... it might be just a matter of re-chambering, and then tuning up the feed ramp and rails. Any gunsmith worth his salt can do that, even Rusty McGee, aka member roughone,
of Hilltop Gun Shop and Spa for Wayward Rifles, Falls of Rough, KY. Wink

Wasn't there a company doing customization of the new Ruger 416's and 375's?

Tony Barnes of Twin Falls installed a 3 pos. mod. 70 safety on my old Ruger 77..He has since passed away, but I suspect Dennis Olson, Plains, Mt. 406-826-3790 could do all that you want.

This drawing from Hornady shows that the .416 Ruger will definitely clean up the .416 Taylor chamber.
Hornady ought to know.

Above is believed to be the true .416 Taylor, from Wolfe Publications "The Illustrated Reference of Cartridge Dimensions."
There are some oddball .416/.338WinMags masquerading as .416 Taylors out there, but the .416 Ruger reamer should clean those up even better. tu2
