So I gather that I have no worries with my CZ. Glass bedding would be nice, but recoil thru bolts are unnessary. Sorry for all the trouble, you're really a nice bunch of lads to be taking so much time talking back and forth like you do.

Minkman the action will hold up no sweat unless you load a case full of win 296 or similar I would however get your smith to bed it and add cross bolts infron & behind the mag box....I have a hogs back cz550 .458 winnie coverted to the lott and was reccomended by folks on this board to have it done.

Mr. Bekker wrote in his article that he considers the model 98 safe based on his calculations and based on failure testing performed by Ruger. So why is there any controversy?

Perhaps someone misunderstood the article. I can quote a single sentence from the article that resolves the controversy, but my copy of the magazine is at home.

Dan, If that is what he wrote, WHY was this thread started??? The premise of this entire thread was that this Mr. Bekker wrote an article stating that the Mauser was NOT strong enough for the 458 Lott. ASS_CLOWN
