Hi to all
A friend in a town near mine offered me a 500 Nitro Webley and Scott in a real cheap price.
Before I travel to look at it. Does anyone know if W&S made doubles or only shotguns?
I look in the blue book but they talk only of shotguns.
Any information would be apreciate
Thank`s to all
Guillermo

Yes, Webley & Scott made double rifles and I would guess that they made more of them than any other maker in Britain. They were the largest "maker to the trade" (a gunmaker who built guns for other gunmakers) in the UK and built a great many double rifles that were retailed by (and are marked with the retailer's name, not Webley & Scott's) a host of famous gunmakers including Holland & Holland, Purdey, Rigby, Evans, Manton, Westley Richards, etc. Of course, they also retailed as many as they could themselves under their own name.

I own a double rifle built by Webley & Scott for another maker and they are fine rifles. Current condition is the real question. Have it checked out by a professional if you are not expert yourself.
