I asked this question a while ago - 416 not hitting the target, traditional "down the bore" bore sighting not helping, crappy selection of spuds in 416 for other bore sighters. So I picked up a Leupold Zero Point at the suggestion of some members here - first shot on paper, 2 - 3 more to get it adjusted to center. Was shooting waaaaay low. For kicks I also used it to sight in a 9.3 x 62 and an 8x57 - very nice, three shots to dead center with an previously un-adjusted 9.3. The adjustment process is a little complicated in my mind or I guess you could say the [lack of] instructions suck; I had it figured out after my range session but didn't write it down and I think it's already gone. They mentioned that it could be used for iron sights somewhere on the packaging - I don't see how though. Anybody used it for that purpose? Overall it worked very well, I was impressed and would recommend it - especially when you're shooting something where $75 buys you a box of the 'cheap stuff.' TG | ||

I use the 'LaserLyte' as sold under Cabelas name. Cheap and accurate. Requires no skill just insert and aim at the red dot. I carried it to Africa the last couple of trips to check zero and it worked perfectly on my 7x57 AND my 416Rigby. I used it a couple of weeks ago to get my 8x57JRS double on the pasper and it was within 6" on first shot. Don't know what more versatility you could ask for.
