I finally got around to shooting the CZ in 505 Gibbs today and I must say..they got this one right. Handles great, looks great w/ the fancy walnut and with mid level loads don't beat you too badly. I am going to shoot some higher level loads on Saturday to grow into the bit higher level of recoil. I think the Leuplod 1.5x5 is going to stay on since it seemed to work well with my smaller build. So far, a good experience. Much better than my #1 in 458 Lott! Any others like the big bore CZ's? What would you change on this rifle if it were yours?

A 505 is a brute with full-house loads. Not sure what yours weighs, but I might bump it up a bit to 11 lbs or so.

Biebs, it weighs 11lbs even w/o the 1.5x5 Leupold. It does have the mercury recoil reducer in the buttstock so that helps too. The butt pad is nicely absorbant as well. 3 mid range cartridges is all I shot today...don't want to get a bad flinch and I have to say it takes some concentration to pull that trigger when the crosshairs are on the target. I'm not so sure I can handle the full house loads based on what I shot today...which was not as painful as a #1 Lott w/ full house loads.

I said no to a CZ550 .505 Gibbs about a year ago at Cabela's and have intermitantly kicked myself in the bottom for it since. I'd love to see some pics of yours! I've a 9.5lb CZ .458 Lott that is about my upper limit for right now, though.
