Quote: First which 500/450 is it chambered for, there are several. I have owned two Husky double rifles, both hammerless Model 410 chambered for 9.3X74R, and though they were not fancy, they were very well made, and shot like a dream! The fact that the rifle is a hammer rifle, and that it is chambered for a .450 bore tells me it is old, and most likely chambered for the 500/450#1 Express. The 500/450 #1 express is a black powder cartridge that was very popular in Engalnd, Scottland, and the nordic islands, for hunting deer, stagg, and moose in the late 1880s, to mid 1890s. That chambering is the equivalent of the 45-70 in the USA, and not suited to dangerous game. If it happens to be chambered for the 500/450NE that would be a different story! I wasn't aware Husky ever made anything but the one model 410 chambered for the single chambering of 9.3X74R. The fact that "I" am not aware of them doesn't mean they did not make them, however! This one would be hard to value, without looking it over VERY closely!

Hi, I am not a 100% expert in Husqvarna double rifles but I am rather sure that the rifle is for black powder. Hva made the model 37 (under lever hammer) and 37A (top lever hammer)in many British black power calibers from .450 up to .500 and possibly also .577. I have never heard about a model 37/37A in nitro calibers! The action is a long double rifle action that possibly came from German or GB sources. Husqvarna did not make them. The model 410 double rifle was made on the model 310 20 cal shoot gun action. about 120 rifles was made from 1910(?) to 1970. Most of them in 9,3x74R, two(?) in 30-06 and possibly some other calibers. Husky

VFR, i don't know 10% of what most of the double rifle collectors/owners do... 1: you MUST determine if it's BP or not... for a "Working" level rifle, a BPE is, well, worth AT LEAST 50% less, to me, at least... In fact, it's probably more like 75% LESS, or more, as I would not pay much for a hunting level BP rifle YMMV 2: It's a hammer gun, some like em, some dont. 3: it's not german or english... or a searcy, .. value, TO ME, falls alot.... To me, who's been looking for a double awhile, it's not going to get big dollars from me, as, lets face it, I can get a perdersolli, with a little looking, for ~2k, and HAVE it rechambered to 450 n#2 for ~800, and KNOW it's fairly new, tight, and accurate. jeffe
