I WILL build both the 22 DGR and the M70! Give me the remainder of '03 to get the work done. I will prove to all of you I have what it takes to build custom rifles! I am sick and tired of being insulted, I will show you all.

To those that say I am an idiot because I asked some questions, I suggest that you are in fact the idiots. I do not have any gunsmithing experience so I asked for some insight. I received very little input regarding actual gunsmith tools, i.e. action wrenches, barrels vises, etc. I did get plenty of input regarding manual lathe set-up for metric thread turning. Just you all wait I will do it.

Jeffeosso, says the M70 cannot handle the 585 Nyati. According to my calculations it can handle plenty. I will bet he won't want to shoot the rifle anywhere near the ballistic performance level that pressure signs exist!

Axel

Best of luck, Axel. BTW, I stated, by quoting YOU, that YOU said it would handle SAFELY 577 NE levels, which are BABY loads in a 585. Your statement intimates that YOU felt it would not handle full house 585. Sorry, if that's not what YOU meant to say, but next time SAY what you mean.

There's no way I am man enough to shoot a full blownin and going 585 in an 11# rifle (from YOUR calcs) or even a 13#... or 18.... without a brake, and I will not have a rifle that requires one. I backed off to a 500 jeffe, for a reason.. i KNOW what 100 ft'bs feels like.. and it's NOT pleasent.

have a blast, as I am trying to give you good advice. Start with a cz, start with a 416.... load it HOT like a weatherby... and then start playing with other things... take reasonable steps.

whatever, I tried to "save you from yourself"...

here's an easy one.. call pacnor and ask chris or casey if they would even do the barrel for a 585 on a model 70.

DANTEC,

I calculated the hoop stresses generated by the breech pressure. At 577 NE levels the action should be fine! If you are a mechanical engineer, as your profile states, you should not find these calculations new or difficult.

Rob, I am confident that there will be NO explosions. Except of course for the muzzle blast. Soon I will be in your class or even better!

Jeffeosso, if your friends at PacNor will not provide me with the prefitted barrel I will simply purchase one, which has not been threaded. I will then thread it myself, no big deal!

well, <sigh> at least the m70 is on inch treads....

Axel, IF they wouldn't sell it to you, it's due to SAFETY...

trying to help you out here, man, really

I don't know exactly how many rounds I have fired in my 585 nyati based on a model 70, but it is well over 100 and maybe over 200 (definitely less than 300). My standard load is 130 gr. Re15 with a 750 grainer. I have pushed the 750 up to 2320 fps without difficulty.

The recoil is not bad in a 13.25 pound rifle, although to be honest it is easier to control from the bench than offhand.

Go for it, Axel! I think this is exactly what you need to do. Just shut the hell up and build your damn guns. You never want to take anyone's advice here anyway...since you are so damn smart! [Roll Eyes]

You go build your guns, tweek up your loads, get some good pictures and then come back and tell us all what a bunch of dumbasses we are.

But until you DO THAT and stop talking about it...you're still just a motor-mouth that has never done anything, doesn't really know anything, and never will do anything...but run your mouth.

So, go for it! I'm behind you. See you when you get back with your rifle. [Big Grin]

Axel- We will believe it when we see it! Based on your sad history of not telling the truth, it will of course be necessary for you to carefully document your personal efforts in building the NYATI. A picture of you!,your parts, your machinework, receipts from the parts suppliers etc. will be of course be necessary. You of course will post them with placards showing the exact time and place.
Otherwise, someone will just find where you got the pictures from and make a fool of you again!
While I'm positive, that your efforts to turn a new leaf are TOTALLY SINCERE, nevertheless, you are a pathological Liar and Bullshit artist! You must strive extra hard to earn our respect and admiration! We await seeing your talents bloom here on AR with baited breath!
By the way, Ed at AHR said he sent you a quote for the 585 AHR. You wouldn't attempt to pass that off as yours would you?-Rob

Axel- Ed didn't tell me. You did! You signed your name by accident in one of your E-mails on your 500 AHR pictures! I just pretended I was you buddy and asked Ed about your purchase of the 585 AHR ( Remember that one last week?)!-Rob

Rob, does that mean you bought my co-worker a 585AHR? I told you I didn't get a quote from Ed, but I know someone who did! Sounds like you forged his name on an email? Rob, really now...do you have no shame?

You must truly understand that 500AHR and I are TWO separate people! 500AHR, by the way is not the pretender I am, or was I should say. Afterall, I am going to build a big bore rifle and a DGR 22!

Rob,

Only someone with a major personality disorder would impersonate someone to gather personal information about their business dealings! I suggest you seek help if you NEED to do these things to feel good about yourself.

By the way, genius I sent you a private message. You are harrassing an innocent person. I shall tell the guy who you impersonated of your behavior. You are sick you know that!
Are you that afraid of me figuring out how to screw a barrel into an action?

Axel
