Just thought I would mention this (sorry it is off topic), was talking to a lady that works in a different department last week about hunting and she said her husband (or a friend) was hunting bear and had baited for it and it didn't show up. so starts getting close to end of day and he lowers his rifle to the ground, gets half way down and the bear shows up, he goes back up but rifle down there. he was up there a couple of hours. :-)

I thought you were supposed to keep hold of the rope you use to lower it! (never used a tree stand myself)
