Dieter just e-mailed me and says he now has 1170 cases done. If anyone wants some send him an e-mail at DHorneber@aol.com. the first 1170 cases are spoken for by the Dirty Dozen! Perhaps he will run more off. You will have to wire him money though. By the way reloading dies that work( very nicely) are available through CH4D for the .600 OK..
500Grains- Yes I might very well write just such an article. -Rob

lets say someone wanted to build this beast. Where would you get the barrel and where could you get it chambered?

Pac-Nor will make a barrel and thread it for you for any action you want thats suitable. I'll provide them with the reamer, I won't send it to anyone else though. If enough people want barrels you get a major discount if you order 5 or more. That's what the original dirty dozen did. I think we wound up paying about $230 apiece for CM, long chambered pre-threaded barrels. Pac-Nor still has the 3 groove cutter we went in on.-Rob

Rob--The email address for Deiter doesn't work
for me, but I will phone him tomorrow. Is Deiter
shipping brass to each one of the dirty dozen, or
the whole run to one person to reship. Ed.

Rob, beautiful piece of destructive machinery.

Can Ed Plummer make a fine weapon or what? Especially the wood--really special wood. Ed's building me a .500 A2 now and will build me a .550 Mag. soon. I went with the .550 because of the ability to use the CZ 550 (eponymous, no?) action and still get 3 down.

I really like yours, though. Keep bangin' brother!

Rob, Wasn't it more like 319.00 with the shipping? That's the number I remember.

I am ordering a CZ next week to start my project. My gunsmith just gave me a stock blank. No charge, not the prettiest piece of wood but simple and straight grained, of course I guess I'll have to pay him to make a stock out of it. Nothings free.

Hopefully I'll be shooting mine by the summer.

TONTO-and ALL--I just got off the phone with Deiter and he
is not able to make more 600 OK right now, as he has
equiment changed over for and going for other orders. He figures he will be able to make another run about late May or June. which I think is fairly quick. So we just need to
push the cartridge, test it, write it up and get him a big order for summer.Perhaps some getting cases now can share
a couple with new members making up a second dirty dozen,
or 3 dozen, thus getting more guns built. And making next brass order bigger which brings down cost, and maybe even a supply houses will get in on the act--Huntingtons-Quality-Midway-ETC.It will take off with writeups in the mags..
..I will do as much as I can to help..Ed.

George- Your probably right It was a little over $300. However, remember we paid about $500 for the three groove rifling button. Pac-Nor has that now and I'll bet a new .600 Ok in lots of 5 or more will go around $250. Thats for a 26", pre threaded, long chambered CM 1:20 twist 3 groove barrel. I have about 300 cases that I've bought myself and would sell some small quantities. I also suggest people call DAVE at CH4D and get him to make a run of 1" dies. This can be a long lead time item. By the way, Bridger bullets will make Lathe turned brass much cheaper than drawn brass and it's perfectly usable up to 2200fps. It is dimensioned exactly the same as the drawn brass and works just as well. Ed at AHR can make complete guns and in my experience their stockwork and RELIABLE turnaround time is a major bonus. I would be carefull of local gunsmiths attempting a project like this, but I will be willing to provide critical dimensions and expertise. I am not an FFL ( by choice) so I won't do any actual action work, but I can make
excellent barrel mounted recoil lugs and or Fit Muzzel breaks on occasion! I work for beer and women so bring both!-Rob

Ed Hubel and others,

Would be willing to be in the second dozen for the 600 OK brass and PacNor barrel. However, I would want my rifle built to my spec's and I would talk to AHR (Ed) about that. Want at least 14 Lbs in that caliber.
I would assume that some would want different actions and stocks, etc. anyway.

Owning and shooting something like this is so intriguing that even if it never takes a buff, it would be fun.

So, if the favorable news keeps on coming, accuracy, loading, etc. count me in for the second group.

Is there a need to contact Dieter H. now, individually, or do it as a group???????

Dak

Ed and others,
I ordered 100 pieces of brass. I don't see me needing that much and would be willing to sell some at cost.

Rob,
Yep, I knew I should have waited for the second run of barrels.

That email you sent me (long ago) with the chamber drawings and specs for the bolt work got lost in the last computer melt-down. Could you send it again?

Dakota and ALL--I think it would be easier to contact him
in spring as a group, to use the time try to get order as big as possible; and he is so swamped with work it
would be easier as for him to get one order with everyone on a list with the number of cases.Someone here could do the tally and keep track of orders and keep us informed,
like Rob.Then when we contact him with the numbers he will give us the price, Ie the more ordered, the less it costs
per case, Ed.
