Just happened to be looking through a new SHOTGUN NEWS and J&G Sales has CZ 550 AMERICAN MAGNUM .458 LOTT listed in stock for $1148.00. They sell "Rigby" 550 actions for $449.00. Seems like a great increase in price over the 550 with the LUX type stock. Just thought I would throw this out to you guys for comment...

If CZ can make a .416 Rigby (European style) for $637.00 I really can't understand why the .458 Lott should be $500.00 more in the American. I'm seeing buyers driving up the cost of the Smith and Wesson 500 Revolver the same way this may end up. It's the old "I gotta have one right now, no matter what the cost." And in the end, like the 8 track tape player, the computer, and cell phone the price will drop with expanded production and the market becomes somewhat saturated. Those individual buying at the early high end may lose but in the recent years have come away unscaithed because just about all guns are holding their own or increasing in value. With that thought in mind, I need to run right out and buy one of those CZ .458 Lott at the high end. Then maybe, just maybe, I can maintain my present business standard..."Buy High! Sell Low!"

I doubt they actually do have those in stock. CZ USA doesn't even have the stocks, yet for the American magnum configuration. That price is actually for the "Exhibition Grade" of wood. There will be a standard (field) grade of wood, too. It will be priced similar to the existing magnums. So, have no fear about the price. By the way, the American magnums in Lott, are supposed to be available sometime in January. Scott
