I have one on a .458 Lott that Ed made for me and it works well. I only use it on the bench, and it makes the rifle into a pussycat. It's not too loud, either (much quieter than an Answer Products brake I have on a .375, also for bench use). I think you'll like it.

Ed-Michigan,
Ordered my 500 AHR with the X-brake and cap. Use it off the bench, but take it off for off-hand shooting, don't like brakes in the field. The X-brake tames the muzzle jump and recoil pretty well. Ed told me that the new version may even be more efficient. [Big Grin]

Call AHR and talk to him.

Goog shooting! Paul M.

Al, didn't that rifle come from the factory with a muzzle brake? I used a KDF on my 500 Jeffery and it worked well. The blast wasn't too aweful either, from the shooter's perspective anyway. Sorry cannot comment on the "X" brake.

Kent, no it didn't have a brake, I got it second hand. I'll keep playing with it for this summer with loads on the lighter side. Not like there is a big demand for it around here.

Paul, sent you a pm.
