Anyone know of a source for properly headstamped brass? Dakota and Huntingtons are out of stock.

I want to make sure I have a supply of brass before I chump off and order the reamer and guages.

buy 416 Rigby cylindrical from Jamison, if all else fails, and have your jeweler engrave them.

Rich,
Brain fart. The .416 Dakota is full length .404 Jeffery based.

Just scratch up what you can of the proper headstamped stuff, surely some more will be on the way.

Meantime, just neck down and fireform .404 Jeffery.

oops! My bad...cranial/rectal inversion incident.
How about bailing me out by building a 416 Rigby instead?

I have the last 60 rounds of brass that Midway had, but would like to have at least twice that on hand before going overboard.

Dakota even said they didn't know when they would be getting any in.

I have a feeling it may soon be an orphan.

I got the same "sorry charlie" attitude from Dakota when I went to order some 450 Dakota dies. So I ordered direct from RCBS. And I've laid in a supply of brass. Incidentally, what would you guys consier a "lifetime supply" of brass for a 450? I have 300 new on hand so far. jorge

At 2450 fps with a 500 grn, figure 12-16 shots per brass, estamation of 3600 to 4800 shots in total. Bare in mind these are conservative estamites, you could do more. Incidentally at 4800 firings, you can shoot once every day for over 13 years.
