Fergus_Bailey500 A2, help needed
Guys
I am having an action made for a rifle I plan to build. This is the first 500 A-Square chambering this company has made and they are asking for a couple of cases to test the feeding of the action from the mag.
Given the enforcement of international laws, I really do not want to ship cases internationally. Can anyone spare a couple of cases to assist? Please email me at fergus@accuracyrifle.com and I will give you the details on where these need to be sent.
Thanks, I really appreciate the assistance in bringing this project to life.
Fergus

jeffeossoSorry to say this, but RUN away from this company...
if it's their first, and it's leaving the country, and it's a 500 a2, the stock is GOING to split
REQUIRE a dovetailed or intregal barrel recoil lug. If they don't know what that is, either cancel or tell them to call me or rob
as for ammo, It would be far simpler for them to call midway and get some from a2

Use .460 Wby brass. Seat any 50 BMG bullet into the case backwards until only the boat tail sticks out to correct COL for box, ~ 3.750" max. Many actual loads may be shorter with bullets crimped on cannelures of hunting bullets.
This will be good enough for feed work, and if it will work with that sort of FN nose it will work with anything most likely.
Seating the bullet will neck up the case. You can pull the dummies and reload to fireform later. You do have dies don't you.
I don't care to get involved with shipping dummy cartidges internationally. Maybe one of your Aussie mates will reply.

Michael RobinsonGuys, chill, it's just an action.
Fergus, your request seems to imply, since you don't want to ship cases internationally, that the maker of your rifle is not in Australia. If the maker is in the USA, I will gladly help you out with some cases (although RIP's right, all they need are .460 Wbys).

Fergus_BaileyYes, as noted, its an action only. The maker just wants to be as sure as possible that the magazine is feeding correctly. The request seems like a good level of attention to detail to me.
MR, thanks for the offer. PM sent with details.
