Seroiusly I will probably never be shooting cape buff in the "jesse" (is that what it's called??) Just will never be able to afford it, but I will blast a heap of ferals with it, thats why I need to keep recoil down a little and also need touse the BP 650 grain woodleigh's so they open up fast on pigs etc.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all the good responses on my question. My .404 is up and shooting now, was very suprised at how easy it is on the shoulkder and I haven't had a brake installed yet. I did install a mercury filled shock absorber in the butt, and used the Pachmayer Decilerator pad, and the rifle is quite heavy at 9.5 pounds but seems easier to shoot than my 8 pound .375 which does not have the tube in the stock. This turned out so well I may give a .500 Jeffery a try next, I always thought I was a little recoil shy, perhaps I have let my passion for lightness get carried away from reason.
