Well I went and done it. Just picked up my Blaser R93 in 416 rem with the professional stock in green. Aleko at Heritage Arms has been great in making the purchase. I have visited with him for several years and he always asked, When are you going to buy a Blaser? My respose was always Uh.. never. Never say never. After he and 500 grains invited me shooting this last Sunday I made the leap. A big thanks to both for the invite, as I came away with an education in doubles and fine bolt guns as well as having a great time. I still appreciate the traditional guns like the Ryan Breeding 505 that Dan brought. I fully agreed and understand why he refers to Breedings rifles. This was truly the finest bolt action I've ever held. After shooting and Aleko explaining the Blaser system, I knew I wanted and needed one. Now I just need to shoot some buffalo.

Kino Now that you have a Blaser in 416 you should get another bbl in a lighter calibre for practice and fun shooting. Take a look at the 223 or the 308 LRS bbl. It is a "Safari" diameter bbl and will approximate the feel of your 416. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY

I was thinking of the 30-06 in the semi weight and use it for elk and Argentina red stag next year. It's not as large as the Safari, but the gap shouldn't be too bad.

Kino A buddy of mine who owns a gun store is a Blaser trophy dealer. He likes the feel of the Safari fore end better than the regular fore end. He uses it for all his bbls including the standard skinney ones. There is only a slight gap. No problem. Looks like you have a good plan to me. Aleko is a great guy to do business with. He shoots a Blaser [and everything else] plenty good too. DOUBLE RIFLE SHOOTERS SOCIETY
