What new toy should I buy.
Need, well not really, just want a new rifle. Not really concerned about what calibre, have most already but what I am looking for is a new factory rifle, a mauser derivative, in a classic style and which will be considered such in years to come. Along the lines of the Ruger RSM African models, or the CZ Safari magnums, perhaps a Kimber. Have regular and magnum models of each of the first two, never seen any of the Ruger African or new CZ semi custom Safari models or a Kimber for that matter. Don't want a custom rifle, have plenty of those, but any other suggestions would be very welcome. Nothing too obscure please as I would prefer a brand that already has an Australian distributor. My preference is US made (for a variety of reasons) but would consider alternatives.

Checked out the M70, like the concept/execution especially the deluxe versions, but none that I saw on their website sported iron sights or were "big bore". The Ruger was on my list but I was thinking along the lines of the RSM Mk11 Magnum. Hadn't really considered the Hawkeye models, so more information about them would be appreciated. Only so much can be gleaned from the ads. I was considering real wood, preferably a premium grade for whatever I decided on.

I have the CZ 550 and it is a big bore. It's a fine rifle. It shoots to point of aim. You' gessed it its the 458 Lott.

CZ Custom Classics are offered in a lot of traditional classic British calibers with various options to "dress" them out as you like.

Wayne at AHR would be my choice though if I wanted a special rifle with really classic lines and superior wood, fit and finish, etc.
