I am finaly ready to mount my scope on my Win mod 70 in .375 I decided on Leupold QRW rings and bases. Anything special i need to do besides loctite the srews for the heavy recoil? I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

I have and do use Leupy QRs, QRWs and Talleys on my heavier recoiling rifles, from .338WM-250s at 2800 to my .458WM. I have ahd seven .375s and now have two, set up as follows. With any of the above mounts, the only ones I use, I have the receivers d/ted to 8-40 screws and then set up my scope and sight in the rifle. Once I KNOW this is all working well, I take it apart, degrease thoroughly and then use "J-B Weld" on the bases, but, NOT on the base screws, which are "BLUE" Loctited. I then re-install and check my sights and am GTG. I have some rifles done this way circa 1990-91 and carried in 4x4s, on long horsepacks and on backpacks and have never had one problem or loss of "sight-in" since that time, using this method. My custom "bear gun", for working solo in BC Grizzly country, is a P-64 Mod. 70, sts Classic bbl cut to 20", Recknagel fire sights, QRs and Leupy compact 2.5x MHD scope. It weighs nine lbs. in it's Micky Mod. 70 MC stock, shoots the 300NP at 2400 into .65" at 100M and is fast and easy to handle/carry....and solid as the proverbial rock, so, try this, it works.

Degrease the screws, rings, bases, and the top of the receiver, then use the thread locking compound of your choice. George
