I have a Winchester Model 70 Classic Stainless in .375 H&H. The tupperware stock sucks. Recoil is a little heavy, too. My thoughts: Definitely a new stock , get 2-3 " lopped off the barrel and install a brake, maybe sell it and get another CZ, what do you all think? ![]()

eric, I had the exact same problem and ideas....here is what I did with pics included. http://www.nookhill.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=16;t=003513 I just returned from Africa....it was this rifles first hunt, and it performed perfectly! See the pics of the animals I took with it in the African Hunting section ![]() Good Luck [ 07-22-2003, 05:41: Message edited by: TXPO ]

Like 500grains, I was lucky enough to get one that works fine as is. Like mikeh416Rigby, mine shoots 3/4 MOA, for 3 shots at 100 yards. As is, it is a great go-to-beater-rifle that can take some abuse with no worries. The recoil is not heavy, and the only alteration I wanted was to get the pull 14" instead of 13.5". To approximate this, I slip on a Pachmayr slip-on black medium pad. It is really gentle then. Great beater. I JB Welded some Leupold QRW bases to the gun and adjusted the trigger myself to 3.5#. The new Leupold QRW bases with the square cross slot recoil stops are great. No more Leupold bases mashed like dog doodoo. It is a perfect beater rifle in my book.
