chuck375500 Jeffery factory ammo
Hi my rifle's due in two weeks, but my reloading stuff for it maybe not. Is the Kynoch ammo any good (I was thining of buying a pack of 5) I know there were problems with the A-Square ammo.

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Don't know about Kynoch, but Chris over at Stars and Stripes Ammo can most likely put some together for you fairly quick.

chuck375Thanks Rodney, I'm hoping the machinist will have my Lee turrets for my Lee Classic Turret press tapped for the slightly larger dies soon. If he does, I'll just load. I'm about to order some Jamison brass, and 535g Woodleigh softnose bullets to start with.

Chuck

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}What does it take to send live ammo now a days? I could send you a few pieces to check feeding, function and to fire.

Rodney H.{500Jeffery}Hey Chuck, did they cut the throat on that rifle deep enough for BMG style bullets? Just wondering because I think it is a good option.
Rodney.

chuck375I'm guessing they did what the CIP standard is, it's a normal (if there is any such thing) chamber for a CZ Safari Classic in 500 Jeffery. I've got several excellent gunsmiths in the area, so if I need the throat deepened a bit it shouldn't be a problem down the road. Rodney and Jeffeosso, thanks for the offer, but it's such a pain to send loaded ammo these days I'll just load. I'm going to order my brass directly from Jamison, because I'm not sure if I'll get the new stuff or the old stuff from Midway. I ordered 2 boxes of 535 Woodleigh softpoints and shell holders today though. My dies are already in.

BuliwyfFactory ammo depends on wheteher you have the .500 Jeffery chamber or the 12.5x70 Schuler (.500 Schuler) chamber. Kynoch is good and is the .500 Jeffery chamber. I also like the Westley Richards factory ammo.

chuck375If anyone's interested, I called Jamison and they told me all of Midway's 500 Jeffery Jamison case stock is of the new design (two stars on the case). I ordered a box of 20 to get me started.

BuliwyfBTW, what the hell is the "new design"? Do you have a clue?

chuck375They had a problem with a run of their brass, I heard about in this forum. They recalled it all, the new stuff is supposed to be very good.
