Hi Can anyone tell me if this gun came with a laminated stock for the factory? I am looking at buying one and I am not thrilled with the laminated tock that is on it. It is my understanding they are a decent gun. Any comments welcome. Ian

If I remember correctly, the 'Battue' version (20" barrel) had a laminated stock. George

Seen a few AV .375's but never one with a laminated stock. Very decent gun indeed.

Thanks George! Yes it looks like it is factory. What do you think it is worth? 'sako av,brown laminate stock, brass , dies, bullet tips and a 3x9x40 bushnell elite scope' Not the scope for me but thats what he has on the gun. The gun looks like it has been taken care of. Thanks for the help. Ian

DO the laminated stocks have 'cast off'?

ilw, If it is the 20"-barreled 'Battue', it might be worth $1200 to someone. If it is the standard FinnBear 24"-barreled model, it might be worth $700-900. Does the rifle have sights? Remember that Stoeger (the former importer) used to install the stocks (from Sile) here in the States to reduce the amount of tariff due, and there is no telling whether the stock was original to the rifle, bought from Sile directly, or a take-off from another Sako. Hi, The laminated stocks do have cast off. The laminated stock was a factory option. I don't care for them either. McMillan makes a replacement stock that is identical to the factory stock - just made out of fiberglass. You would be able to sell that stock, or trade it for a plain walnut stock easily. That rifle and stock combination would be worth $800.00 USD. Don't pass up that rifle just becaus of the stock. They are wonderful rifles. LD
