Just picked up one in Ruger 375 caliber for my wife and daughter to use for larger critters. My wife had one of the african Ruger M77 in 375H&H some years ago and shot a bison with it. She disliked the scoped weight of close to 11 lbs to pack around so we sold it. The Ruger guide rifle makes sense especially since I have three other earlier models in Ruger 375 and 416 calibers. The muzzle brake for the girls when practicing and the adjustable LOP make it universal so that when my son-in-law comes up to hunt just add a spacer, ready to go. I confess my first impression of these versatile rifles was "that's butt ugly." Needless to say, having picked up and handled a few of these over the past year it's balance and practicallity are so impressive I don't even think about the aesthetics of the rifle. In Alaska I can't think of another rifle that fits the bill so well in this environment. Some leupold low rings for Ruger and an ultra light FX 2.5 Leupold and we're at about 8.5 lbs, balanced with moderate weight wife and daughter are happy huntresses. I like mine. Only problem I had with mine was the stock cracked in the tang area. Could of been a bad piece of laminate. Ruger replaced it quickly with no questions asked. I used low Alaskan Arms LTD quick detach rings with a leupold VX3 2.5-8x36mm Boone & Crockett reticle. Gun balances very well and is accurate. Plan on using it for elk and bear here in Washington state.

Morris is a great guy that doesn't live too far from me and he makes some great products. Along with his Ruger QD rings the Mauser M70 trigger replacement is in a class by itself. "An individual with experience is never at the mercies of an individual with an argument"

Yes, him and his wife are real nice and a pleasure to work with. His rings are well built and as far as my testing with them they always return to POA.
