416 Howell reloading data needed
I just purchased a Paul Marquart (Marquart Precision) custom 416 Howell on a FN Belgium action. It came with everything I need to reload including dies (Full lenth, Neck, reamer and trim). Also Barnes 300/350 grain bullets and Hornady 400 RN with RWS 404 Jeffrey brass. I bought it from an estate so no reloading data was included. At this time no hunt is planned but I'd like a good safe load to have some shooting time. RL 15 looks like a good powder choice but how much for the bullet weights? Or does someone have a better suggestion?

rel 15, and bnechmark are the leading powders on ammoguide - myself, I'd load with h335 --
I spoke with Ken on this, and compared to the 416 AccRel -- (and thereby ruger)

the ruger has about 1.5 gr more capacity than the howell.. fwiw

opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club

The 416 Howell holds 96 grains of water. The Ruger 416, I've determined from my research, holds about 100. They are both non belted and are almost the exact same OAL. Would any of you veteran loaders consider using the reloading date of the 416 Ruger as a reference point? Any suggestions?

aaahunter, spoke with an old friend about this and his suggestion was to use either the 416 Remington or 416 Ruger load data starting loads and work up.
