<BMG>.500" bullets for 50AE, Beuwulf, S&W, etc...
I was at a different reloading shop than my 'regular' spot today because I needed some 350gr .416 Speer's for deer hunting in just over a week. Anyway, I saw some .500" 385gr bullets made by Remington. I asked if they would work in the 50AE and the guy said that they were designed for the 500 S&W. I figured if it's a .500" bullet why not. The bullet OAL is .937" and the cannalure is .375" up from the base of the bullet. I have a 50AE upper for my AR-15 and am planning on trying them in it. Can someone give me a MIN & MAX from quickload for H110, Unique, & BlueDot.
This heavier bullet might help the Beuwulf shooters.
Thanks,
BMG
ps. The guy also had 335gr Rainier .500" bullets for $15.50 per 100 (found them for $14.70 per 100 delivered on the net purchased in 500 bullet orders). For that price I think I found my plinker load ($8 savings over the Speer 325gr per 100). I was also unable to find any info on the Remington & 1 source/info for the Rainier bullets on the net. They must be new but I have them so I know they exist.

<BMG>I hate to beg but I'm shooting this weekend and won't be able to get out again for a month or so after that. Anyone with Quickload?
Thanks,
BMG

JudyBMG - no, but I have software. What is it that you would like to know? There has been load data posted on some of these cartridges before, you may want to search.

RobgunbuilderThe best results with the .50 beowulf have been with Lil Gun powder. I found 37.5 grs with a 334 gr AA bullet works well at low pressure. Since the .50 AE has about .75% of the case capacity, I'd lower the charge by about 35%.-Rob

JudyBMG - reread you original post. I sounds as if you are planning on using a Remington .5", 385gr bullet in your 50AE. If this is what you are doing, and using the bullet dimensions you gave.
385 gr bullet
seated to cannelure, which yields a COL - 1.85"
Max average chamber pressure - 35,000 psi
23 gr of H110 powder should be about
MAX !
I
strongly recommend that you start out around 19gr of H110 and work up from there.
