Holosight on a H&H Login/Join

OK Im either nuts or a origional thinker but I was wondering if a bushnell holosight would be effective on a .375 H&H? If it would work then would it handel the recoil, how fat would the target dot appear on a 200yd target and would our rainy Alaska conditions trash it out? What do you think? I like the idea for close quick target accusition.

Personally I think you would be dissapointed with it, you would be better putting a 2.5X leupold on it, it would do the jobe you want (close range etc.) and be more reliable.

I would opt for a 2-7 leupold if it were my rifle.

Hope I have helped a little. Regards PC.

Trapper,

The Bushnell Holosight is kind of big. I know professionals in RSA using the FirePoint sight on their stopping rifles. It is small and has a red dot. The battey will last for 9 months, so they change it twice a year.

Tasco was importing them into the US and selling them as the Optima 2000. I bought one about a month ago.

Recently I heard that the English maker has gone out of business, and Tasco is no longer selling the sight.

I have no clue how rain would affect the operation of the sight, but I would like to hear!

I would also second the leupold M8 2.5x compact, and highly recomend the 4a reticle sold/installed by premier reticles.

I simply do not rely upon battery opperated devices in the field, and that goes especially for scopes. The 2.5x will have superiour resolution in low light, and be much better for accurately placing shots at longer range.

Red dots are great for close range shooting, and rapid sight aquesition, but IMHO not the choice for all purpose sighting equipment.

Checked your bio, where are you stationed as a fire fighter?
