The last one they made is called 589 Stopper. It's a 584 with short (approx. 22") .458 barrels. MSRP was close to 3k.

They no longer make them, and only sold 5 in the US. I got the last one from CZ USA a couple of years back. All of the above facts are correct. It is O/U with 22 inch bbls. It is not a thing of beauty, but it is very well made and STRONG. Its really a guide gun...very short and quick.

Mine is still 458 Win, but the conversion to Lott is easy. I have done nothing to it as I am not sure how a conversion might affect the bbl regulation, which is dead on now.

I would sell it for a $1000 profit since it is rare, so that puts it at about $4K.

The .458 lott conversion takes about 15 minutes but requires the removal of the ejectors and a special reamer with no belt cutter. The regulation is uneffected. I would just love to hunt ELE or Buff with this thing. In fact I got the idea on my last ELE hunt after humping a 12lb double for 10 miles or so. It's very light and shoots incredible groups. It's a tad slower than a SXS double, but you can get off 4 shots in under 8 seconds with one. Not a thing of beauty but I'd be hard pressed to pick up something better for hunting where a long hike is involved. I give it an A+. Besides where you gonna find a better double for the 2K I paid for it. It's a steal for 5X that price. If Sabot will sell you his for 4K. Jump on it, you won't be sorry.-Rob

Rob -

Nice to know one can go to the Lott and keep the regulation. The CZ guys were very nice and indicated that the Lott would be very easy to do. I failed to ask them about regulation, but your post makes sense given the small change in the chamber.

They also sent me a very cool target from the factory for this gun with upper and lower shots at 150 and 50 meters. The aim point is a 2.6 inch circle which both bbls nailed at 50 meters for 1.13 inches on center. The 150 meter hits are left 2.2 and high 1.6 inches for a 4 shot group of 2.52 inches combining the 50 and 150 meter regulation tests.

My gut feeling is that this is very good for a double with iron sights, but I am quite a novice at doubles.

In any event the price is, in fact, $4k until I get cold feet!
