Don't know if anyone has tried this before, but I thought I'd pass along a recent experience.

I have a Ruger #1 in 375H&H which has been gathering dust as an elephant rifle (I have successfully eliminated ALL elephants from Michigan's UP).

So I started some cautious reloading w/Trail Boss and LRNGC 260gr bullets and 25gr. of the powder w/CCI LRP's. No signs of pressure, and accuracy is 1 1/5" at 50yds, and 3" at 100 (w/a 2" drop). Recoil is like a 308 through a heavy rifle!! NOTE: all cautions on your part should be taken!!!

Haven't chrono'd it yet, but figure around 1800fps - not a serious "clod flogger", but should handle our whitetails at cedar swamp ranges.

Anyone else have any experience with these components??

I think when you chrono you are going to be seriously disappointed.

A case full with a 300gr stuffed into it yields only 1094. Fairly accurate-enough to hit a gallon jug @ 20yds. Recoil was practically non-existant!
