I just finished the last 585 AHR. It was made for a fellow AR member. The reason it's the last one is I'm out of brass and won't be ordering more. The 585 has never sold well enough to justify ordering a couple thousand cases and having them sit on the shelf for years. With the T-Rex pretty much out of the picture for the same reason (hard to find brass) and the Nyati never taking off for it's own reasons, it looks like it's up to Ed Hubel to carry the torch for the 585.
The rifle is built on the CZ 550 action with our three-position safety and our trigger, vertical-stack mag box, new checkered bolt handle, and we set it up for a Leupold Delta Point red-dot with our QD mount. It has a removable brake and two mercury reducers. It even feeds "proper" flat-nose solids!!! Sorry I couldn't resist. Wink

I'm having trouble downloading the pics. I'll get them up as soon as I can.

Can the 585 AHR be rechambered to Hubel's 585 HE?
How long is the barrel on this one?

Correct bullet placement, combined with the required depth of bullet penetration, results in an anchored animal...

No., it cannot be re-chambered to 585 HE. The AHR has a larger diameter case and belt. It is the 600 Overkill necked down.

I'm having a helluva time posting pics. I'm downloading from Photobucket just like I've always done in the past and it just won't work. Any ideas?
