Good day. I've been thinking at getting into the Big Bore world and am looking for a relativley inexpensive way to get started. I've heard that it's pretty easy to turn a 458 Win into a 458 Lott if the action is big enough. The Model 70 Classic Safari Express is also chambered for the 375 HH and the 416 Rem which are both based on 2.85 inch long cartridges. Is the action for the 458 Win model sufficient for a 458 Lott version? Anything other then reaming out the chamber required? How much hassle is involved to turn a 458 Win into a 458 Lott in this particular rifle. I'd also like to hear some other suggestions for rifles if anyone has them. I'd like to keep the price under $1200 for the rifle if possible. Not overley fond of CZ rifles. Thank you for any feedback.

Punching out a 458 to a Lott is doable in the M-70s...All M-70 actions are the same length with a recent exception that won't apply here....you will have to make some simple magazine changes..
