Looking to install a heavier latch spring in my 458 Lott #1. I've accidentially hit the latch release a few times, and would like to install a heavier spring.

Does anyone know how / where to order a heavier than factory spring?

Doesn't appear Wolf does single requests for "special" orders, and the single shot forum hasn't had any other ideas.

I may try just adding a BB underneath the factory spring to increase the weight....

Any ideas?

You can either make your own or see what the local Ace has in their bins. The more coils, the softer; the thicker the wire, the stiffer. A spring that has been cut is stiffer with less pre-load.

You can think of a coil spring as a torsion bar that doesn't require that its ends be fixed. The longer the bar, the softer; the thicker the bar, the stiffer.

Pre-load is pre-load. You can cut your stock spring, put in a spacer to take up the slack, and have a stiffer spring. Did I mention stretching? Same as putting in a spacer. It doesn't affect the spring rate, just the pre-load. The spring rate is determined by the length and thickness of the wire, and the modulus of elasticity of the metal.

If Ace has a spring of similar diameter and coil spacing, heavier wire but longer, when you cut it in half, say, it will be twice as stiff as it was in the bin. And, if it's cut exactly in half, you'll have a spare. If it's not cut exactly in half, you'll have options. Just trying to give you an idea of what you're working with. If you want to play, Ace is a good place to start. Probably won't have to make your own, although a decent gunsmith will have the capability.
