now THAT is one fine looking amalgam of steel and walnut. I could find room for that in my vault.

Local shop has something nicer.
Octagon barrel, folding leaf sight, lever type flooplate release, Mauser-type peep sight in top strap (acivated by push button), cartridge trap in stock, German type set trigger (if I remember correctly) ...... Carl Stiegle Munich/Berlin on rib, but it was probably made at Mauser Werke factory.
It's chambered for excellent 7x57 cartridge, something one can actually use!
Yes, it was made in 1920s and is still in unfired condition with almost all CC remaining on action and bolt. Wink It's been stored in Mid-Atlantic closet so there are some rust spots. CRYBABY
If that is 2K gun then one at $$$abelas is worth what, 1.2K?

That one seems to have all the bells and whistles. That's an unusual barrel configuration, unlike other octagon/round barrels I've seen on other pre-war Mausers. $5K is alot though, amazing what people are paying for guns these days.
