Need Help on a CZ 500 Jeffrey
A guy has one on a 'deal'. He has no use for it at all. Previous owner need some cash so the employer bought it from him and now he is offered for me to look at it for a bargain. I have no ideal what I need to be looking for on this gun.
Any and all info would be much appreciated! Feel free to PM...

Don't 'need' the gun, but then do we any ANY that we get on a 'deal'!?!? dancing

Thanks

these are CZ actions and stocks that are fitted at a US gunshop, and they just plain work. should feed fine, and while i would send it off for bedding and pins, it should hold together

If the owner has any ammunition it would be good to see it feed and function on the range. I wouldn't worry about accuracy the CZ's seem to do very well. I wouldn't even care if he pulled the trigger, just that it fed and extracted smoothly. Otherwise, if it's a great deal, a good gunsmith can get it to work. The 500 Jeffery is not an easy cartridge, I know, I have one. It's wonderful but it took me three trips to three different very good gunsmiths to get it right.

Realistically how can you go wrong? If it truly is a good deal and you find later you need to get it worked on - so what? It's still likely a cheaper way to get into a 500 Jeffery than having one built from scratch.

The CZ is a good action to start with and the skies the limit on what you could make it into if that's what you want to do.

I agree with Jeffe, glass it , cross bolt it, test it at the range for feed and function, most need the action polished IMO.. They are excellent guns IMO.

A quick trip to Wayne at American Hunting Rifles will resolve any issues. I also got a bargain price on one at Cabelas. Another resource would be Triple River Gunsmithing i beleive they actually build the Safari Classics for CZ. its the only rifle i own with a muzzle brake it can be painful to shoot

Deer seasons just around the corner.

Heck a stray coyote would be fine too.
