What is this a militia meeting? Anti-terrorist training camp with anti-materiel weapons?
Wink

1. Rob needs to hang on better with his trigger hand on the first shot/550 Magnum, knuckle buster?

2. Rob needs to strap on his glasses for the 550 Express.

3. Keith and .458 Lott double: squib loads or a powerful big guy who has good technique and soaks up recoil well?

4. Keith 470 Mbogo: ditto #3.

5. John 550 Magnum: Well done

6. Dave 550 Magnum: looks O.K. but view blocked by bystander

7. Neal 550 Magnum: lets go of rising forearm in recoil on both shots: poor follow through technique

8. another .458 Lott Ho Hum

9. another .450 Ackley Ho Hum

10. A 50 Beowulf: did it jam after the first shot??? Where is the rapid fire with the little pop gun??? beer

Good videos. I have hunted Camp Cooley twice with the DRSS. We always had a great time.
I must say I like the 458 o/u the best.

Since we were shooting something that was already dead I was not to concerned about the follow up shot and I am training to be able to shoot the 550 Magnum with one hand. Really recoil is not that bad so it is not that big of a deal at the range.

Some good video! I,like NE450No2, was most interested in seeing the 458LOTT double in action. Keith has learned well from all his shooting of his LOTT, and took to the 458 LOTT double like he had been shooting doubles all his life. His two shots were close together, and with very little muzzle rise, because of his stance. His re-load, and third, and fourth shots were quick as well.

I assume this double has a single trigger, as most O/Us do. If so, is the trigger selective, and are double triggers available for it from the manufacturer? I see that the rifle is fitted with ejectors, and they seem to work fine.

Camp Cooley Ranch is a nice relaxing place to hunt a little, shoot a lot, and generally get together with friends! They have been shut down for hunting, the last I heard, for lack of game manager, is it back open? Looks like you guys had a great time there.

I think that the 458 Lott double was loaded to 2200 fps. If not Rob will correct me. We all had a good time and it was the best of company. I wish I could have caught Billy shooting the 550 Magnum. There was a lot of anticipation or he had to unload his snoose first. Not sure which but I'm sure he didn't want the 550 to make him swallow.
Take care,
Dave

RIP, no squib loads. Just lots of practice. I have shot my Lott more than all of my other rifles combined, this year.

Mac, the CZ has two triggers, as all proper doubles should have. I have eight double shotguns, that I have been using for the last 14 years. Mostly in timed compitions, or bird hunting. If that O/U had been a SxS, my reloads would have been 1/2 the time, or less. Camp Cooley, is a fun place for a group to hang out and shoot.

Yes, Keith, just yanking your chain. Thanks for showing how to do it.

Neal,
Shooting the .550 Magnum one-handed? Why for? bewildered
