Ahead of the band it's .749" and just behind the band it's .759" (tapers obviously as it goes)...

Hi,

Can someone with a Ruger MkII in 375 measure the barrel diameter behind the front sight barrel band ?

I'm looking for a decent front sight, and brownells sells these for $14, would be a great deal if it fits

Thanks in advance

LOL, no problem...

Which sight are you considering? If you can share a link or pic I'm curious. Don't forget NECG has a nice replacement front sight that just fits right into the slot on the existing base on your Ruger. The look nice and may give you what you're looking for (probably more visibility?).

Good luck.

It's actually going on a new 375HH project on a nice pre-64

I like the look and solidness of the Ruger front bands and am hoping the size will match up.

the NECG brass sourdough is what I'll probably use, since I'll need to monkey with the height to match the rear sight.
