Does anyone know what is the standard freebore for 458 Lott reamers. I will be ordering a reamer and can have a choice of freebores. What is standard or what is best? Most shooting would be with 300gn Barnes but would sometimes use 500-550 gn bullets.

First the main thing is the throat must be parrell. I typically have my reamers made with a .250, .458 freebore followed by a 1 degree 30 minute leade into the lands You can seat bullets way out this way and not have pressure problems with no effect on accuracy. -Rob

Robgunbuilder. The specs you gave are exactly what I ended up going for. Pacific precision says they use 1.30 leade and by my measurements .250" should be enough freebore for all 500gn bullets I have measured. At least I will be able to seat the 300gn Barnes out to .050" off the lands for a bit better long range accuraccy.
When it arrives ,if any Ozzies want to borrow it ,drop me a line.
