Very nice!

Will the final diameter be .408" as shown, or the more common .410"? A .410" would look awfully sweet in my 450-400NE 3 1/4.

Tanz,

The terminals are going to be predictably excellent, because of all the tests and field experience already out there, with GSC HV's so similar, like ...

416330HV: .416-cal/330-gr
410325HV: .410-cal/325-gr
even the 395340HV: .395-cal/340-gr

Rich,

GSC will tweak to whatever diameter you need, BUT,
they tweaked your bullet to make mine.
GSC already has your bullet ready: .410-cal/325-gr HV.
C.I.P. standard twist for the 450/400 NE 3-1/4" is 1:15", eh? That is plenty fast enough for the bullet.
That fast a twist on a your 450/400 NE is another reason that cartridge worked so well, same for 3" or 3-1/4" versions. tu2

The .411-cal/317-gr for the 400 Whelen works great in a 1:14" twist. tu2

The usual 1:13" twist for the .408 Chey-Tac, is more than fast enough for the .408/335 HV, and that ain't a bad thing ...
Just need to keep this bullet down to no more than 3150 fps to avoid the dynamic instability (Sd) mumbo jumbo. hilbily

Another thing I recently learned was that this dynamic instability thing may favor the blunter, less pointy, shorter-nosed bullet performance at higher velocity.
So the lesser BC bullet can go faster and not cause the nutational gyrations that open worm holes in the fabric of space-time with the higher BC bullet.

A slightly lesser BC bullet can go faster at MV with less yaw than the higher BC bullet,
thus may be more effective overall in the usual, shorter ranges of big game hunting,
even if the pointy VLD at lower velocity may win at 1000 yards
Hence the Game Field Domination Bullet (GFDB) pet name for this new bullet. Cool

We make many dedicated bullets that are specifically for a particular cartridge. 500/465N.E., 450/400, 350 Rigby Magnum and 280 Ross come to mind. That said, we also do bullets for very common cartridges. Our most popular bullet is the 150gr HV that is used in a 30-06.

Whatever you use and whatever your application is, obsolete, rare or current, we probably have a bullet that will get the job done.

I wished GS would do a .333cal bullet in a flatpoint configuration with the length of 43mm.
Thats right...it´s for my .333Jeffery.

Jens, to get a bullet done that we do not have is straightforward. All you have to do is ask for it. If we do not have such a bullet, we will create the best possible bullet for the application and, for that, we need some detail from you. You can use Contact US at the site below or at gerard@gscustom.co.za.
