I've just fixed a Pachmayr "Triple Mag. Field 990" to my lightweight 416 Taylor.
After I've hunted with the rifle for two weeks now, shooting two moose, I must highly recomand it. That pad really makes my Taylor a pussy.
I will fast buy two more. One for my 338 RUM, and one for my 460 Wby.

I have the Pachmayr Decelerator on my .450 Ackley, I think like you it is a great recoil pad for the price.

I also thought the Decelerator on my 460wby. was the best, until I got a Triple Mag.!!

I'm glad that you've tried it and liked it. It is the best information that I can pass on to shooters with big bore rifles. You did real well getting 2 Moose. Send me a couple of pictures when you get a chance.

The triple X F990 pad is a couple of steps up from the regular decelerator for tamming recoil. You would love one on your 450 Ackley which is a very solid recoiling gun depending on the weight you've built it to. Mine was 10 lbs even and the triple X pad worked great on it.

I'd love to send you foto's, but I'm affraid you'll laught your breath out when you see them.
It was only two calfs (so far, it's not over yet).
One on 63Kg, and one on 71Kg. so i did'nt exactly used the whole film on them, if you know what I mean.
My hunting team has a permit for 1 bull, 3 calfs, 3 cows, and 2 youngsters (1,5 year old).

But nice of you to show me interrest, though.

I'm affraid a large trophy here in Norway, still will make you laught if you compare it with the bulls in the Yukon. But, it's the biggest we have so...........
