If for any reason I can't get an appropriet size rifled barrel from the States, I can still have a 4150 steel bar deep hole drilled and reamed and screew a 4" long rifled 12G paradox section "choke" into it. What is your personal experience and the accuracy/ bullet stability from that set up? 2", 3"...4" at 50yards or it's still too optimistic?
My only concern is when the 1000gr. slug/bullet will engage the rifling at 2500fps+. Will I have to a buy rifled shotgun every couple of months just to cut the barrel up or what?

Any valid input would be welcome
Thanks

Pyzda- I have made a 6" section of 12Ga Rifled barrel from ER SHAW and threaded it to fit onto a Encore 12GaFH smoothbore. I machined in a forcing cone and it worked just fine. I had the same trepidations as you and used the "ol tire trick" with a long string for the first test. I think you will be good to go. BTW accuracy was quite good once I found the right load.-Rob

You do like Rob says, make it 6" and experiment with loads. You can get 12ga FH cases from
him. Or if exporting is a problem he has
CNC to make rims pieces. for you which would make
doing your own cases easier.Ed

Rob/Ed thanks for your reply; I went to the local gunshop to have a quick look at H&R single b shotgun to take some measurements from it and there was none. My question would be; is the chamber section thick enough to host safely the extra pressure and the muzzle section thick enough to accomodate the "choke" paradox rifling?

The next question is how much pressure the action itself can safely take without stretching and for how long. I'm asking this with the view of the possibility converting $100 into a great entertainment.

Are there better choices of cheap break open SB shotguns? What about the $300+ secondhand BA shotguns? Or the rifled BA shotguns?

What are the cons and pros, is there anything you would like to share?

If you are talking about a regular, thin, shot barrel NEFs
they are is not heavy enough at the muzzle to rifle, for
our long case slug loads. That is why we use the rifled bull
barrel NEFs 12ga Ultra. They can handle long cases by deepening
chamber, and have handled 27-30,000 psi loads in long
12ga FH cases and 23,000 psi in 3.5" RMC turned brass cases.
And they are 270 bucks, not bad for already rifled.

The only other main singleshots here that is rifled is Encore but
cost a lot more. Or you get a 10ga NEF and monoblock in a
12ga heavy barrel like Rob did with the double 10ga. .

What other used BA guns are you referring to? Ed
