Does anybody shoot those Barnes bullets in the 416? Mine is the Rem. 416 mag. I found a lot of copper in my barrel with them.

I do and have had excellent result with them. I haven't experienced excessive copper in my rifles...I use barnes in just about every rifle I hunt with, including 416. Your barrel must be very clean. I use the Barnes CR 10 I think it's called but any high quality solvent used to remove copper should work. It may take a big effort to remove all the copper if you shoot many ronds through the barrel or the barrel is new. There's been a lot of discussion on this so a search here on AR should help you with finding other's experiences.

I'vr tried them and wouldn't touch them again with a 10' pole. Just my experience. The barrel (a hand-lapped Shilen) was completely copper colored inside after 2 shots. "It's like killing roaches - you have to kill 'em all, otherwise what's the use?" Charles Bronson
