Ok Fellas, I'm going out on a limb and venturing up here in the rare air. I'm normally down in the tinker-toys; (17-300mag), but something at a recent gunshow caught my attention and I feel the need to bring it to the light of day. A dealer (young kid) had 8 or 9 boxes of 510 grain 458 Winchester Magnums. They have exposed lead, so I assume they are soft points? They were Winchester brand and appear new (never fired), but have been around for a while judging by the boxes. He was asking 40 bucks a box. I'm sure he'll be at the next show this weekend. Are they a good investment or is he asking what they are worth?

I'd grab them. That's only $2.00 a shot. Most bullets alone cost that much & you get the brass to load & don't have to load these ones for the first shots. When was the last time anyone saw $40 458 mags?

I'd buy them as well. Certainly for the brass!

Well, there's the catch then, isn't it? I kind'of thought they might be a decent buy, but I would just be spectulating if I bought them and I'm not really in a position to just buy them and HOPE I could get rid of them. I would like to keep one loaded round though. AND, he might just take less if I offered to buy all the boxes he had. Lots of ifs here, but; are there any here who would be interested in some of them if I can get them bought for 40/box or maybe a little less?
