Try calling Rocky Mountian Cartridge @ 307-587-9693. They might be able to help you.

Dieter Hornbear makes brass, but I don't know of a US agent, and when I e-mailed for pricing and ordering information, I didn't recieve a reply. I'd planned on getting some 500 AHR's, rebating the rim and trimming to length, as they had been listed at $2.25 a case, then I checked last week and they are ~$4 a case, which is about what Midway is charging now. I think I'll see how well the 29 Star cases I have work beforing getting more brass.

Currently, Bertram will be your only option. Next year Bell/Mast will produce .500 Jeff brass. Buffalo Arms lists them as coming soon in their latest catalog. Supposedly .505 Gibbs will be first then the .500 Jeffrey.

Westley Richards now has an American affiliate who may have helpful advice. They advertise 500 Jeff ammo on their web site, anyway. 5 rounds of 535 grain softs (Woodleighs) will set you back $55.00, while solids are $59.00. Yup - 5 rounds. I've recently been reading Taylor's "African Rifles and Cartridges", and today I happen to discover the WR web site, and there they are advertising ammo for all the great old African cartridges, and some newer ones. Go to www.westleyrichards.com and drool over the new (yikes!!!!!) and used rifles & shotguns. They have quite a few used double and magazine rifles. If Africa's on your mind, you'll love the web site.
