| I would start out with 115 to 120 grains Re 15 with a 750 grainer and work up. |

| it has been my experience that the 577 requires 110 of rl 15, and a filler, in bertram brass...
i dunno for cast, jeffe |

| Yeah, but this is a Ruger #1 so he can fill the case up and avoid the filler. |

| I take no position with regard to the merits of filler. I use it and I believe in it, at least for working loads up in large cases. After you know what powder produces optimum ballistics and fills up the case, you won't need filler.
IMR 5010 burns like charcoal, produces feeble ballistics, and is very bulky. Except for the lack of load data for most rounds, the stuff might be perfect for popgun loads out of double rifles.
Imagine: I take my necked up (to .510) .505 Gibbs case and pour 145 grains of surplus IMR 5010 in, top it with a 700 gr. M2 ball bullet, and I get a tight (hear one or two grains split as I seat the bullet)compressed load, and only 2075 fps. Kind of like one of those kiddie pneumatic cork guns.... |

| KMuleinAK, Look forward to seeing the picture. Yeah the No. 1 is a violent SOB with a big bore cartridge. The 577 with a full house load will definitely get somebody's attention, especially in a No. 1. Have fun and be safe guys! |
