Currently building a .458 Lott on a P14 action and the next step is to order a barrel, no idea what length to get. thinking 23".

Anyone know a "propper" BBL for the Lott?

Depends on what you like for looks and operation.A 26 inch barrel will give you 4% more velocity than a 22 for
example, but extra weight
will give about 10% less recoil.Ed.

I want all the extra velocity I can get so that I can load it down and operate at very low pressure with the Lott..On a 458 Win. I want all the velocity I can squeeze out of it...

Two or so inches of barrel will not make a lot of difference in weight, it will however point and shoot better off hand IMO.

I like my DGR to have a 26" barrel, but 24"s is acceptable.
