He was tooling up to make a Large Magnum Action and offer barreled actions. Has anyone picked up the ball where he left it after he lost the battle to cancer and died last year?
"my recent announcement of the new magnum actions on the gunsmith list. I need help with a design for both a .577" and a .550" DGR rifle cartridge..based on the .585 Nyati-3 1/4" basic case. Steps are in hand to procure a supply of these WITHOUT the rebated rim. I belive Woodliegh can supply .550 caliber, steel jacketed solids. What neck length and shoulder diameter and angle would be best for these calibers 1.5 x diameter..or less on the fat ones? Loaded length will be 3.95"
Who should I approach for a reamer and loading dies for these new cartridges?
I also propose a Long range target round in ,416 or .450 caliber, built on the same Nyati 3 1/4" cases. Any comment s or suggestions would be welcomed. Sorry but I lost your direct email address.
Thanks in advance

"Dimensions of the 585 Nyati BASIC case are as follows:
Length over all..3 1/4"
Rim diameter.....0.635" (same as 505 Gibbs)
Base diameter.....0.655"
Shoulder and neck diameter..both 0.655 in other words..a straight cylinder.
I have firm orders to produce several .577-3 1/4" versions of my Large Express Rifle Company action so I need a case design to be able to order chambering reamers and loading dies.
I imagine the dimensions of the case will follow closely those of the original .585 Nyati which are as follows:
Base diameter .655"
rim diameter .635"
Shoulder diameter .650"
neck diameter .605"
Only the overall length of the case being changed from 2.79" to 3.25"
Your help with case design, estimated load data and maximum pressures plus a few pointers to likely suppliers for the reamers and dies will be much appreciated.
Thanks, teenut
