From the few times I tried it in both my .338 & .375 it gave fantastic accuracy and very deep penetration with good expansion

Anyone who claims the 30-06 is ineffective has either not tried one, or is unwittingly commenting on their own marksmanship

The Black Talon/Fail Safe ammo performed admirably on everything from Bushbuck to Eland in my .338 Win Mag.

They expand but then penetrate like a solid. They are also very accurate.

I have used the 270 grain failsafe on some large pigs and water buffalo. Very dead animals with pass thrus never recovered a bullet. When they were discontinued I bought a large quantity of 270 and 300 grain bullets for $10.00 a box. May use them for Buffalo on my next trip to Africa

I shot a huge bodied Eland quartering toward me on the shoulder with a .375 failsafe, can't remember if it was a 270 or 300 grn. The bullet broke the bone, but turned and went down the leg and exited without entering the body cavity.
Found and finished the bull after a lengthy follow up.
It just followed my luck with the barnes X bullets and the like. I'm jinxed with that whole family of bullets.

I didn't think they still made them! Used them in a 300 mag in namibia, they were very hard and behaved more like a solid!

Glad I stocked up on them over the years thanks dad! Have seven boxes of 180 30cal for the ultra mag and several boxes of 375 they are tack drivers. Have only shot paper so far but just below a half inch 3 shots w the ultra
