If you have any pics of your rifle or favorite vice presidential candidate, post here please. Wink

A Winchester Wasilla is a reworked Winchester M70 Classic Stainless and beats a Kimber Talkeetna any day, any way, any how.

Post a picture of your M70 Classic Stainless Winchester Wasilla along with her pet name here.

I'll get Sarah naked on a bear skin rug and post her pic later. She is a .375 Weatherby.

Edit: Also calling all Winchester Denali gunporn.
A Denali is "the Great One" any chromoly-actioned CRF Winchester of .375-caliber or larger, straight factory or infinitely customizable.

How about a Winchester in Wasilla?

This is a 300 Winchester Mag in a Brown Precision stock that has had the magazine opened up. The spacer block was mostly removed. It looks good just has the last layer of one side remaining, the piece that was actually welded on to the box remains.

I then removed a little material from the bolt stop and the ejector, maybe 1/16" from both. Then I removed what was needed from just the lower half of the ejector to allow a cartridge to come all the way up to the feed rails without interference, maybe another 1/16".

Looking back I bet the modification to allow cartridge feeding from the longer box would only require material to be removed from the lower half of the ejector as the cartridge will slide far enough forward to miss the top half of the ejector while chambering. I dont think the bolt stop needs to be touched at all.

Anyways there it is with 180 Nosler E-Tips loaded to 3.550" as the rifle has enough freebore to load longer now that the magazine allows.

BTW this was my first action mod. Did my first stock inletting last week on a Mauser. Big Grin

RMiller,
That is a nice Winchester Wasilla. clap
Having hung out in Wasilla quite a bit myself, I understand the Wasilla philosophy, attitude, ambience ... whatever you want to call it.

I am Wasilla-proud to have launched a new nomenclature for an excellent class of rifle, and yours qualifies in spades: The modified and gussied up Winchester M70 Classic Stainless.

No Winchester Wasilla Safari would be complete without a medium bore Wasilla to complement Big Bertha.

The Brown Precision stock on your rifle is oh so elegant! Excellent butt on your girl! thumb

I'll get some boudoir pics of Sarah the .375 Weatherby Winchester Wasilla. As of your auspicious posting from Wasilla itself, it looks like this thread might have legs:

Above is fake, sorry, photoshopped by a Democrat to impugn the virtue of Governor Palin no doubt. Wink

Surestrike my friend, thanks for your glorification of the Winchester Wasilla. clap

My Sarah refused to pose naked on a bearskin rug. She demanded to be fully clothed and riding my barely legal (50") moose: 375 Weatherby in an HS Precision stock with Leupold 2.5X-8X in QRW rings with bases 8x40-ed and epoxied to the action, blueprinted, and rechambered with a 2001 reamer from Dave Manson.

0.138" 3-shot group at 100 yards: factory barrel

Lousy photoshop, but funny:

What, no more Winchester Wasillas out there?
My Winchester Wasilla pictured above was simply a rechamber of the .375 H&H with this reamer (note that it appears Dave Manson did it for C.I.P. purposes or at least to C.I.P. specs):

It shot this 0.138" 3-shot group at 100 yards with Bridger Walterhog 300-grainers. That is a 1992 Winchester barrel. Some good quality then:

It occurs to me that I need to build a .458 Lott Wasilla on my last remaining M70 Classic stainless. That one will be named "Palin."

Will the Kimber Talkeetna beat the Winchester Wasilla to a .458 Lott chambering?
No worries if they do.
Better things are worth waiting for.

The .375 Wby named "Sarah(cuda)" plus the .458 Lott named "Palin" will make the ultimately practical two-rifle battery.

A Sarah-Palin Winchester Wasilla package is the ultimate pair to save the day in any situation. Wink

Since I can use garden variety .375 H&H ammo in The .375 Wby Wasilla, and I already own two .458 Lott rifles, my next Winchester Wasilla needs to be something special: .458 Ruger Max

This is simply the .375 Ruger necked up to .458 and throated less sloppily than the .458 WinMag and .458 Lott.

Considerable tightening and shortening of the sloppy .458 Lott/.458 WinMag throat (same-same) can be achieved and still allow the .458 Ruger Max to be loaded to the 3.600" H&H COL.

A Winchester Wasilla is just as light and handy as a standard Mauser 98.

The "gold standard" .458 Ruger Max reamer could be used to chamber a rifle with either a 3.4" or 3.6" box.

It will likely be more accurate in either configuration than either the .458 WinMag or .458 Lott.

Firing .458 WinMag ammo in the .458 Ruger Max will be possible also, though surely not routine. Cool

The next Winchester Wasilla for me will be a .458 Ruger Max named "Palin" to go with "Sarah" the .375 Wby.

Palin will be a pile driver.

Max,
Thanks for taking it in good fun. How is Miss Lilly the 400/.395 NE coming along?

Now that you are onboard the Wasilla Express, the price of Winchester M70 Classic Stainless rifles will go through the roof!

I fear the country just wants a negroid appearing half-cracker president to add "color."
Ironic that Obummer is getting a boost from this "October Surprise," as it was created by Democratic-Party-protected-affirmative-action "mortgages for the poor." How oxymoronic is that?
Just a masterful campaign strategy by the Democrats to unleash their junkyard dog now.
Idiots only blame the current administration.
Bill Clinton's chickens are still coming home to roost on Bush's shoulders, ever since 9/11/2001. The weight of all those chicken droppings has just immobilized ol' George.
"Poor George, he cain't heppit" is finally right.

The nation needs to wake up and smell the flatus.
That is not lightning coming out of Obummer's fanny crack. Fannie, Freddie, Barnie Frankfurtersucker, and Barrie "ACORN" Obummer: They all stink of sewer gas.

As you were.
Still hoping to see some more Winchester Wasilla Express Rifles.

By the way, will be going over to Iraq/Afghanistan the first of the year for a year's vacation courtesy of a govt contractor. Should make enough to restock most of my rifles...and take a trip to Africa.

PG? Prairie Gunworks? Nah.

But thanks for reminding me, a Mudflap Girl would be very appropriate on my other Winchester Wasilla, this one in 404 Jeffery, and another sub-MOA game-getter:

Brown Precision stock, highly decorated, Wink pillared and cross bolted and wrist bolted
McGowen 1:10" TWIST barrel
Leupold 1.5x-5x in QRW's
It's a Wasilla Classic! thumb
I'll take this over a Kimber Talkeetna anyday.
This one has the primary recoil lug integral to the action, it is not a phony-baloney (like Obama-Biden), pipe-actioned, washer-lugged Remchester like the Kimber Talkeetna and Caprivi!

Gotta go listen to McCain spank Obummer.

Anxiously awaiting more Winchester Wasilla Express Rifles, or PG versions to complement the big sisters. thumb

A lesson in irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us... "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

Thus ends today's lesson in irony.

Joel,
Excellent example of the "Winchester Denali" Express Rifle! clap

Being walnut and blue puts it in the same class as the Kimber Caprivi, and a Denali beats a Caprivi all to heck and back!

Thanks for expanding the gallery of Kimber Beaters.

Winchester Denali rifles are any chromoly-actioned, CRF, Winchester-made bolt action rifles (from M1917 Enfield through latest M70) that have been modified, customized, slicked up, or improved, and are .375 caliber or larger, but also include the straight factory rifles as long as they have been made flawlessly functional and trued up.

Denali rifles may have any mix of walnut or synthetic stock with chromoly or stainless barrel, but must have a Winchester-made chromoly CRF action, and are chambered for .375 or larger caliber.

Winchester Wasilla rifles are Winchester M70 Classic Stainless rifles that have been modified, customized, slicked up, or improved, and are .375 caliber or larger, with synthetic stock and stainless action and barrel only allowed in this class.

I'll post some Denali rifles too! thumb

Sure would like to see some examples of Winchester Denali rifles here, and any current events commentary related to jackasses or jumbos. patriot

The Winchester 1917 Enfield is grandfathered into the Denali class as a progenitor of the M70, ditto any 1903 Springfield.

But of course the vast majority of Winchester Denali rifles will be Pre-64 and Classic M70 in chromoly action.

With the vast options in customization this puts the Winchester Denali head and shoulders above the Kimber Caprivi.

As the Denali is to the Caprivi, so too is the Wasilla to the Talkeetna: No Contest!

And that reminds me of Obummer:
His forged birth certificate.

His heavy drug use in a misspent youth.

He can't remember whether he is Muslim or Christian.

He can't remember any of the twenty years of listening to hate speech from his "Black-Christian" pastor, whose words nevertheless were lifted for the title of one of Obummer's autobiograpies: "The Audacity of Hope."

Sheesh, Obummer is in his forties, and still "green behind the ears" (Obummer's own gaffe).

Obummer thinks there are 57 states in the USA. Yes he said that. 57 Islamic States in the world?

His asshole-buddy relationship with William Ayers the Weatherman Underground terrorist Pentagon bomber who avoided prison on a technicality, though his Weatherwoman wife did not?

How can all of this be happening? bewildered

Wake up America.

This is not about race or religion. It is about the possibility of a Manchurian Candidate or sleeper/infitrator, or at least socialism and dishonesty, and the Democrat October Surprise: Democrat party politics is totally responsible for the current economic mess worldwide.

Denali AND Wasilla pictures welcome here.
