I've heard that there will be a federal effort to have some sort of sr. numbers on both cases and bullets, and if components do not have #s, then its a fed. offence. Anyone have accurate info on this??

Take a look at the website www.ammunitionaccountability.com . The information really pertains to the 2008 legislative sessions in the states. However, I can't imagine that there isn't an effort already underway for 2009. And then take a look at HR 45 which was introduced into Congress on 01-15-09. If passed, it would require a federal license to possess any handgun or any semi-auto rifle that has a detachable magazine. The way it is written, it would include Ruger 10-22 rifles as well as any AR 15 platform, or Remington 7600 or Winchester Model 100. Very scary legislation. I would encourage all in the gun culture to pay attention and contact your legislators to strongly express your feelings.
