I think it is a dummy cartridge that you have assembled from lathe turned stock. A big cylinder of brass was turned to your specs, then a cylinder of aluminum was turned to the shape that is similar to an FN solid. Could you put some driving bands on that bullet and flatten its nose a bit more to humor Gerard? He might start turning out the FN's and HV's in your caliber if you did. What is that bullet's caliber?
Also, if your machinist gets a chance (You?), I have always wanted to have created a reproduction of the Hammer of Thor, Mjollnir. An aircraft aluminum with high titanium content would be nice for both the handle and head, threaded to screw together. Wrap the handle in buffalo leather, please. A featherweight sledge hammer would be a real conversation piece, or door stop, or paper weight, or something to keep Walter in line with, if he ever tries to get even for all the pranks he has suffered at your hands.
BTW, I have finally seen the videos, thanks to Mitch, who wants to be the first to test fire this cartridge.
