Anyone have any experience machining a CZ602 reciever in order to lower the height of your scope. I spoke with a gentleman ( Justin?) at I think it's called Virginia Valley Gunsmithing and he was telling me that there is quite a lot of metal to play with and if I remember correctly he said that Talley bases and rings were used. I have never seen a set of Talleys in Canada so am not sure how good they are. My requirements are to have a 404 built and I want 3 leaf express sights with the option of a QR scope setup (Leupold/Swarovski low variable)
Does any one have any suggestions or recommendations. I would like to get all my info before I contact the gunsmith. Thanks to all who reply
Yukon257: On my 602's I found that there is no point to do any work to the action if you leave the folding sight's on it because they are in the way of the bigger scope's. What I did,I drilled the action for the #50 Weaver base this is a base that is low and flat bottomed (Leupold may also have a base like this for there QRW rings and if not these rings will fit the WEaver bases) this set up will mount a 1 x 5 scope very low.
