Just recently "discovered" these on the Sako website and am wondering if any has tried them. I have been tending toward the Leupold QD, this is for my 375 H&H. Also anyone know the approximate cost? Thanks-Karl

I havent tried the detachable ones but the regular ones is the best there is, period. The polymer rings save your scope from any possible missalignment and they will keep your scope really tight. My smith made bases for my CZ550 and then i mounted the Sako rings and this combo holds up to 450 Rigby recoil. The reason for this was that the (original 416 Rigby) barrel was not properly treaded so I run out of adjustmet. My smith made the front base a litle lower and this made the trick. Because of the polymer rings there is no problem with bending of the scope. I have allso the Sako mounts on all my Sako and Tikka rifles and I really like them, quality is very good. I think the detatchable mounts are a bit pricey to say the least, especially if you are in the US with the low value of the dollar. A wild guess would be perhaps 200 US$ or more. They are about 350 US in Sweden but very often its much cheaper in the US even with locally manufactured stuff like Norma and Lapua brass. The regular ones are detachable as well but you have to use a wrench. You will get back on target after removing the scope even with the "non detachable" as long as you mount them corectly.
