Blaser makes a semi-production version in the R93. Couple of the Ferlach makers will do them.

It's probably ok here. Those DR snobs won't have it over there.

2 Bolts, 2 actions, a true DOUBLE action

If cool is ugly, yes way cool. What the hell is the point of a horrible looking beast like that. Most DG firearms have taste, that has but at the wrong end. thumbdown

The O/U is, however, way cooler still!

Saw them at SCI. IIRC the price tag was around $180,000.00 Little pricey

Very interesting and innovative, but still ugly. I wonder if they are sold with a balaclava so you couldn't be seen using it. rotflmo

These 2 were on show at SCI in Reno, sorry I don't have any better pics showing the "doubleness"

so they do exist... Cool

They are different but I wouldn't say that they were ugly. They look like they are well built by very capable craftsman. Far better looking than the blaser.

Sorry was never doubting the quality of build, they look to be superbly crafted and are definitely innovative in design. The video shows the rounds feeding and ejecting very nicely albeit slowly for the sake of the video.

But lets face it, in the quest for more fire power than a classic magazine bolt action or double rifle can deliver, why not just develop a full blown semi-automatic DG rifle. Then you have the choice of variable firepower through magazine size.
I know SAs are not legal for hunting in Africa? but the concept of this double bolt seems to be trying to provide something close to the firepower of a semi. Despite the concept and the fine workmanship, it's not to my taste.

I think the gun is a novelty, not a serious gun - But also, hunting with a semi-auto is not be considered sporting in most circles. Just as with a muzzle brake. Crossbow. Magazine plugs in repeating shotgun. Browning offered the BAR in 338Win, dont know how they sold or if legal in alaska. Maybe legal but not something too brag about. Dunno,... Think some BAR were converted to 458Win? I would like one, but again, might think twice about hunting with it.

Here is a couple examples: PA bans semi auto for deer hunting. They also require 'authentic' black powder guns for primitive season. Opinions vary, states vary. I got the hairy eye ball when I showed up with my old A-5 Browning for bird hunting one day. Perfectly legal. Imagine a clunker like A5 would be an advantage of a citori upland! I guess that no one like to hear his gun is non sporting, but I heard it that day. Semi_auto == NON SPORTING. I pretty much buy into this now, I guess.
